The Professor of Physiology will serve as a key member of the academic faculty, contributing to the institution's educational mission through excellence in teaching, research, and mentorship. The successful candidate will hold a post-graduate degree in Physiology or a related field, along with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
Teaching: Develop and deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and laboratory sessions in physiology at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Demonstrate an ability to convey complex physiological concepts, fostering a dynamic and interactive learning environment.
Curriculum Development: Contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of the physiology curriculum, ensuring alignment with the latest research and technological advancements. Collaborate with colleagues to integrate interdisciplinary perspectives and promote a comprehensive understanding of physiological principles.
Research: Conduct and publish high-quality research in the field of physiology, with an emphasis on advancing scientific knowledge. Collaborate with colleagues, students, and external partners to contribute to the research goals of the department and the institution.
Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and junior faculty members. Cultivate a supportive academic environment that encourages professional growth and development.
Service: Engage actively in departmental and university service activities, including participation in committees, curriculum development, and other responsibilities that contribute to the overall academic community.
Teaching Basic Subjects: Demonstrate the ability to teach two or more basic subjects related to physiology, such as anatomy, biochemistry, or pharmacology. Integrate foundational principles into teaching to provide a well-rounded educational experience.
Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of developments in physiology and related fields, integrating new knowledge into teaching and research activities. Attend conferences, workshops, and other professional development opportunities to enhance expertise.
Education: Post-graduate degree in Physiology or a related field.
Experience: A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in teaching and research.
Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to teach basic subjects in addition to physiology. Strong research background and a commitment to academic excellence.
